What’s the difference between Sunbed levels?

At Seattle Sun, we offer three levels of Sunbed tanning—Bronzing, Building, and Maintenance. On your initial visit, we’ll give you a quick tour of the salon and take the time to learn more about your tanning history, your goals, and your timeline. This will allow us to make the best recommendation for you, and determine which beds are right for your needs.

  • Bronzing Level Sunbeds are for new tanners just starting their journey. Bronzing sunbeds have low UVB exposure to help you ease into a new routine—bronzing your existing melanin and preps for more UVB exposure. Contoured acrylic sunbeds help to alleviate pressure points during a 10-20 minute session.

  • Building Level Sunbeds are for clients who are ready to give their bronze a boost. It’s at this level where the sunbeds help your skin produce more melanin. This level is also a good place to be when you need to prepare for a vacation to a sunny destination—immediate color. Frosted acrylic sunbeds help alleviate pressure points during a 9-12 minute session.

  • Maintenance Level Sunbeds are for experienced tanners only. These low pressure beds help maintain color, only tanning the top sub-layer of your skin—color may fade fast. Sessions may last up to 20 minutes.

Lay down and standup options available for select levels, and vary by salon.
